.au Domain Name Renewals
Australian domain name renewals can be confusing due to some unfortunate market practices. Some businesses participating in the Australian domain name market have chosen to undertake bulk marketing efforts that are based on unsolicited invitations for you to renew your domains.
These services are widely seen to be unethical (and in some cases illegal) for a number of reasons, primarily since they do not make it clear that they have never dealt with you before, that the prices are often well above usual market rates for these services, and that they may be misleading about the timing and nature of the expiry of your domain name(s).
At GoDomains, we do not ever send unsolicited renewals for domains. We will, of course, notify our existing customers when any domains are due that were originally purchased through us. These renewals are sent in accordance with the normal practices of the registrar we use for each domain name type. This means renewals are sent approximately 1-3 months before the expiry date for your domain. If you are unsure of your domain name expiry date, or when your renewal is likely to fall due, please contact us for details, or check them any time in your GoDomains Portfolio via our web site.
